Sarah Williams Working Internationally Following IMTA!

“Confidence is key. That may be overstated but it is true.” A statement taken from our PMTM/IMTA alum, Sarah Williams. What does she know about confidence? Well, hers is a big part of the reason she is modeling internationally as we speak! “If you don’t believe in yourself, then you will never achieve what you want to.”

Born in Arizona but Medina, Ohio raised, Sarah is a great example of what can be accomplished when you believe in yourself. Her confidence wasn’t always what it is now. As a matter of fact, she didn’t realize her full modeling potential until just recently when she was being shot by a photographer friend. Her friend urged her to submit the photos to an agency just for fun. She soon developed a love for modeling.

“I love the adrenaline rush I get when I’m on the runway or doing a photoshoot. Once I’m done I say to myself ‘wow, I really just did that,’” she said. During IMTA, she must have said that to herself countless times.

IMTA is a convention held twice a year, once in New York and once in Los Angeles. It is attended by high profile scouts including personal managers, agents, and network representatives hoping to find new faces for the industry. Models and talent compete in acting and modeling challenges, showcasing their skills in the hopes of finding national or international representation.

After auditioning and being accepted to attend IMTA with us, Sarah had a lot of thoughts and feelings. “I was nervous that I wouldn’t get any callbacks, I doubted myself more than anything but I had to remind myself that I truly was prepared very well,” she recalled. “Pro-Model and Talent Management told me every single thing I needed to know and I took full advantage of their advice. Obviously, that was my best decision! I would have never achieved what I have without their help.”

Sarah’s favorite competition was the Fashion Runway. “My outfit was so different and the feeling of standing there waiting for the spotlight’s shine to cue when to start walking was great. I watch the video of myself walking every so often and smile.”

Sarah rode the high of competition through the weekend, but it was soon time to return home. “It was bittersweet,” she said, recalling the close of the convention. “I was sad to leave because I loved being there with all of my best friends and spending so much time with them, but I was also ready to go home and share stories about the experiences with my family.”

That wasn’t the only thing Sarah would be sharing with her family. She also had some great news. She found representation with an incredible agency in the Southeast and an international model management company in Canada. Manikin Model and Talent Agency will be representing her in the southeast markets while Angie’s Models and Talent International will be submitting her for work worldwide. Angie’s AMTI has models in London, Tokyo, Milan, Paris, New York, Los Angeles, and of course, Sarah is currently working in New Delhi, India under their representation in association with POSH Models located there.

Traveling is a passion of Sarah’s, so India is just the beginning! “My long term goal is to travel much more. I would love to model in Paris, or anywhere honestly. Anywhere I can go, is where I want to be.”

When she’s not working and traveling, she loves spending time at home with her dog Ginger. This young lady also values her time spent with family, whom she never stops missing when she’s gone. Whether on the road or soaking in time with her loved ones at home, Sarah knows she’s exactly where she’s supposed to be.

“I went from not knowing what I wanted to do with my life to knowing exactly where I’m meant to be. My whole life has changed; I’m more confident, I have a positive attitude, I’m so much healthier and happier. I live each day knowing everything I’ve worked so hard for has led to this point.”

We opened Sarah’s blog with some of her advice, and we’re going to end it with some too! “My advice [for future IMTA contestants] would be to stay confident and over-prepare. Practice photo movement every night, walk in your heels in the grocery store, never let anyone’s opinion get to you. If you want to achieve your goals badly enough, you will. The only person stopping you, is you.”

Sarah, it has been such an honor to watch you on this journey! You have grown so much as a model and person, and we could not be more proud of you! Way to represent your Mother Agency and the PMTM Family!
