Natalya Rises to the Top at IMTA; Now Placed in LA

A pianist, thespian, and film connoisseur, Natalya Wood was a force to be reckoned with at IMTA New York this past summer. Though a native of West Virginia where the acting scene may seem scarce, Natalya found ways to work towards her goal of becoming a national film actor. “I like to read acting books and then practice what I read… although it’s hard to find a lot of acting things where I live, the beautiful scenery of WV makes up for it!”

Natalya remembers being highly influenced by her father and the performances of the actors he exposed her to at a young age. “My dad would show me all the classics like The Goonies and I just really loved how it took you into another world... What I love most about acting is being able to play someone that i’m not.”

Ready to begin seriously pursuing her acting career, Natalya found Pro-Model and Talent Management’s IMTA auditions and signed up. On audition day, she stood before our panel, which included famed casting director Al Onorato, and gave her best delivery. They were blown away by her performance and she was invited to attend the convention.

IMTA is a convention held bi-annually by the International Modeling and Talent Association. Models and talent in smaller markets, like ours, attend these conventions to showcase their skills in front of national and international giants in the entertainment and fashion industries. Those in attendance include personal managers, agents, casting directors, network executives, and other scouts.

“I didn’t know what to expect [at IMTA],” recalled Natalya. But she soon found out! After months of preparation, Natalya was ready to show up and show off her abilities. “I liked how Pro-Model and Talent Management really pushed us to work hard and not only got us ready for competition, but for handling the constant work that was needed throughout the days of IMTA.”

Natalya excelled in all of her competitions, earning awards for Cold Read (her favorite competition), Screen Test, and fourth runner-up Junior Actress of the Year! She also won a scholarship to The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts. But that’s not all! Natalya also walked away with a contract with Five Star Talent Management based in Los Angeles.

Five Star Talent Management is an acting management company specializing in television, film, and commercial work. They represent both adult and youth actors in the Los Angeles, New York, and Southeast markets. We can’t wait to see where her first job will be!

“My next move is to book a job and get as many auditions as I can,” said Natalya. “My long term goal is to play interesting characters in films.” A goal that we are really looking forward to her actualizing. With Natalya’s dedication to her craft, we know it’s only a matter of time for this young actor!

Natalya looks back at her IMTA experience with great gratitude. “I am really grateful that there was even an option to be able to be seen in front of large agents and managers all at once,” she said. “I got an agent from L.A.!”

Congratulations, Natalya! We are so proud of you and cannot wait to see what you accomplish with Five Star Talent Management by your side. It’s been an honor to be your Mother Agency!
