Prior to this, Al was Vice President in charge of Talent and Casting at Columbia Pictures Television. He has worked on staff at Universal, CBS, and MGM. Before becoming an independent casting director,
some of the many projects he worked on included Bewitched, Hawaii Five-O, Wild Wild West, The Courtship of Eddie’s Father, Then Came Bronson, The Partridge Family, Police Story, From Here to Eternity, Days of Our Lives, and The Young and the Restless.
As an independent casting director, some his projects included Fame, CHIPs, The Other Victim, Mafia
Princess, Superior Court, Family Medical Center, Capitol, and General Hospital.
His work has been recognized with several nominations and awards. These distinguished projects include The Mary Thomas Show, Kids Like These, Vietnam: War Story, and the films The Quarrel and Hunters Blood. He received the prestigious Artios Award for Excellence in the casting of the film Bagdad Café.

Al is also a founding member of the Casting Society of America, where he served as Treasurer and as a member of the Board of Directors. He received the Casting Award of Merit from Nosotros, and was nominated twice as an outstanding individual by the Media Access Office for the Disabled, as well as having served on their Board of Directors for two years. He also serves as a member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in selecting Prime Time and Daytime Emmy Award winners.
Al lectures across the country and at the university level at the University of Southern California, UCLA, Cal State Los Angeles, Iowa State University. For many years he has served as judge and coach for International Model and Talent Association conventions. He also utilizes his directorial skills as a member of The Actor’s Gym in Los Angeles.
